Fee calculator: estimate your fees in seconds.
Volume, average ticket, sector: compare Bridge Pay, Stripe, PayPal and Adyen on their public pricing.
For a classic business, Adyen stays cheaper at equal volume. Bridge Pay makes sense when your sector is refused elsewhere or your chargebacks exceed 0.9%.
Monthly gap
+€400/month vs Adyen
or +€4,800 a year
The gap does not account for sector refusals, rolling reserves or dispute fees.

How are these fees calculated?
The formula: commission plus a fixed fee per transaction
The calculator applies the same formula used to bill a real merchant account: monthly volume multiplied by the commission rate, plus a fixed fee multiplied by the number of transactions (your volume divided by your average ticket). For Bridge Pay, the displayed rates are our public pricing: 2.7% + €0.30 per transaction for standard businesses, 4.8% + €0.55 for high-risk sectors. Competitor rates come from their public European price lists, checked at the last update of this page. Two simplifying assumptions worth knowing: we include neither negotiated volume discounts nor ancillary fees (currency conversion, non-EEA cards, dispute fees), which vary too much from one profile to another to be generalised.
The formula we apply Monthly volumeCommission rateNumber of transactionsFixed feeMonthly cost
Number of transactions = volume ÷ average ticket
Example: €20,000 volume, €50 average ticket, 2.7% + €0.30 → €540 + €120 = €660 a month.
Why 2.7% for classic and 4.8% for high-risk
Why such a gap between 2.7% and 4.8%? Because the cost of a payment goes well beyond its technical processing. In a so-called high-risk sector (CBD, crypto, coaching, psychic services…), the acquiring bank absorbs more chargebacks, heavier compliance obligations and the Visa and Mastercard monitoring programmes, whose fines run into tens of thousands of euros when ratios slip. It therefore demands a safety margin (sometimes topped up with a rolling reserve) which every serious PSP passes on through its rate. Conversely, an abnormally low high-risk rate almost always hides ancillary fees or a risk of frozen funds.
Three ways to lower your fees
Three practical levers to cut the bill.
- Keep chargebacks under 0.9%A recognisable bank descriptor, clear terms of sale, a support team that answers before the customer calls their bank.
- Negotiate from €50,000 a monthThat is the threshold at which most providers (Bridge Pay included) grant tiered rates.
- Pick a provider that accepts your activityFrom day one and by contract, rather than a mainstream aggregator that will eventually freeze your funds and force an emergency migration far more expensive than a few tenths of a point of commission.
Are the displayed rates contractual?
No. The calculator provides an estimate based on each provider's public price list. Your final rate depends on your sector, payment history and volume: it is confirmed in a quote after your file has been reviewed.
Why do Stripe and PayPal show "not accepted" for high-risk?
Their terms of service explicitly exclude most sensitive sectors (CBD, crypto, gaming, psychic services…). An account opened regardless usually ends up suspended without notice, with funds held for up to 180 days.
Is my simulation data stored?
No. The calculation runs entirely in your browser: no volume, average ticket or business sector is sent to our servers or stored.
Does your number surprise you?
